Yard Manager
This role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of our scaffolding yard, ensuring the smooth running of logistics and resource management, and supporting the effective storage, handling, and distribution of scaffolding materials and equipment across our projects.
About the Role:
The successful candidate should possess and be able to demonstrate a combination of qualities including:
- Knowledge of the scaffolding industry (required)
- Previous yard or logistics management experience (required)
- Full, clean driving license
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to change, with strong teamworking skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide range of people including clients, staff, and suppliers
- Strong attention to detail and an ability to maintain high standards of health and safety
Key Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the Yard Manager will include all aspects of yard management, including:
- Managing the overall day-to-day operations of the yard, ensuring scaffolding materials and equipment are stored safely and efficiently
- Overseeing the dispatch and receipt of scaffolding materials and equipment for various projects
- Organising and supervising the loading and unloading of scaffolding materials, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
- Liaising with project managers, site supervisors, and procurement teams to ensure the timely delivery and availability of scaffolding equipment
- Supporting the management team by reporting on yard performance and assisting with logistical planning and coordination
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the scaffolding yard, ensuring a safe and compliant environment
