Project Overview
A major refurbishment project was carried out at EE’s Tyneside site, involving large scale roofing, solar installation and window replacement works while the building remained fully operational.
The project brought together several companies across the group. Ingleford Scaffolding Ltd provided specialist access solutions, John Flowers Flat and Industrial Roofing Ltd delivered the re roofing works, and Flowing Energy Solutions installed solar panels across the entire roof.
The Solution
Ingleford Scaffolding installed independent scaffolding around the full perimeter of the building, providing safe access for all trades involved in the refurbishment. A gantry birdcage scaffold with a covered pedestrian tunnel was also constructed, allowing staff and visitors to safely access the building while works continued above.
A heavy duty loading platform was installed at the main entrance to allow materials and equipment to be safely transported to the work areas.
Alongside this, John Flowers Flat and Industrial Roofing Ltd completed the re roofing works, while Flowing Energy Solutions installed solar panels across the entire roof, supporting the building’s move towards improved energy efficiency.
The Result
Through close coordination between the teams, the project was completed safely and efficiently while the building remained fully operational. The combined works delivered a new roofing system and a full solar installation, improving both the performance and sustainability of the site.
