Project Overview
Durham Castle, whose construction began in 1072 on the orders of William the Conqueror, was built shortly after the Norman Conquest to protect Norman rulers from local rebellion and potential invasions from Scotland.
Ingleford Scaffolding Ltd worked with Brims Construction to provide specialist access solutions to support restoration works at the historic site.
The Solution
A bespoke ramp scaffold design was created to allow safe access for heavy equipment and materials. The structure included a 6.5 tonne ramp system capable of supporting regular forklift and piling rig access to the castle.
The Result
The ramp scaffold provided reliable access for the transport of materials and equipment, allowing restoration works to be carried out safely and efficiently at the historic castle.
