Project Overview
Ingleford Scaffolding Ltd was appointed by North Tyneside Council to provide emergency access solutions at the Low Lights building in North Shields following severe fire damage that left the structure unsafe.
The Solution
Our team installed a fully designed freestanding independent scaffold system to support the safe demolition of the building. The structure included a 20 metre beam span to stabilise the damaged gable wall and shoring to the front elevation to allow the safe removal of the roof peak. Due to the unstable condition of the building, the scaffold was constructed without tying into the structure to avoid further risk.
The Result
The scaffold system secured the site and enabled demolition works to proceed safely, helping protect the surrounding area, nearby infrastructure and members of the public.
